Second Breakfast is a casual, role-play friendly kin made up of active members committed to an environment of respect among all players. We were formed on the day the server opened and over the years have strived to maintain a welcoming, helpful environment for our members and players on the Crickhollow server. We promote a hobbit outlook of sharing food, drink and music, and wish for this attitude to be reflected at all times whether our members are wielding a walking stick or a sword. Our kinship is always looking for like-minded individuals with an interest in all aspects of the game. All classes, races and levels are most welcome.
If you are interested in joining Second Breakfast please fill out an application. It sometimes takes us a day or two before we make a decision, but we'll be in touch soon.
We've had one, yes. But what about second breakfast?
If you'd like to know more about our policies, please take a look at the kin charter and membership guidelines. We also welcome you to ask any questions you may have about us by posting in our guest posts forum. A member will respond to your questions within the day. You can also find us in game by typing "/who breakfast 1 100" (minus the quotation marks) and sending a tell to any member who pops up. It may take a few minutes for the member to respond, but your best bet is to ask to speak with one of our officers.
We host 4 events every week, as well as special events throughout the year. You are all welcome to join us!
Elevenses, a Crickhollow tradition since its inception, is held inside Michel Delving's Bird & Baby Inn for Early Elevenses on Sundays at 11AM (EST/server time) and Evening Elevenses on Mondays at 11PM. All well-mannered folk are welcome, including Elves, Dwarves, and Men, but expect a Hobbity warm and welcoming atmosphere at the Inn. It's a great opportunity to spend relaxing time with your friends or making new ones, to role-play (or learn how), to share some music (or some pies!) and to socialize with your Crickhollow neighbors in a casual setting.
Bread and Jam Sessions take place in the Prancing Pony every Friday night from 9-11PM server time. Share your new or favorite tunes, have an ale or two, kick up your heels in a dance, and enjoy some informal playing time with Breakfast Club. A Bard is readily available to sell inexpensive instruments, and you don't need to be a minstrel--everyone enters Middle Earth with the ability to play music and dance!
And join the Breakfast Club, a multi-kin band, for our concerts at the Bree-town South Gate *almost* every Saturday at 1PM. The band travels to the same location in Landroval for our concert every first Saturday of the month.

The worlds that will close will be announced on August 3rd
5 US worlds and 5 EU worlds will remain open while 19 other servers will close
Transfers will remain free from August 3rd through September 30th
Brandywine will not be available for transfer until the server is moved to new hardware
Transfers between US and EU servers will not be possible
After October 1st transfers will be free from closing servers, but paid between open servers
Old worlds will no longer be available after the start of next year, but characters may still be transferred
Shared currency, shared storage, housing storage, wardrobe and destiny points will transfer over
Items that exist in shared storage on your existing world will merge and new items will go into overflow if you hit the storage limit
You may move your shared storage to a different world than your characters
Items that have not been moved out of a pre-2014 housing storage system will be lost
Rent paid in the old world will be reimbursed in the new world
The number of character slots will double
Kin leaders will have the option to move their kin to a new world and any members will automatically be added to that kin upon transfer to the chosen world. If the kin name already exists on that new world the kin will receive a -1 at the end of the name. It is only possible to change a name with the assistance of a GM (in fact, I have done this once in the past)
If you share a name with an existing character on that new world, the database will check to see if the other character has been active in the last year. If the answer is no, you keep your name. If yes, you receive a -1 at the end of the name and a free name change token.
I'd like to add my theories about which servers that will be closing. The list of servers on the launcher dovetails with the server population numbers from the Lux Aeterna website. Crickhollow is listed 4th among all US servers in both locations. That does not mean we are safe, but if I was a betting hobbit I'd put my money on Crickhollow's survival. Brandywine will remain open, and the other servers I would deem safe are Gladden, Landroval, Brandywine, Evernight, Laurelin, Sirannon, and Gwaihir. I believe that Meneldor will also remain open on the US side as well as Snowbourn or perhaps Belegaer (if they decide to go for two German servers) on the EU side. We'll see where we stand on August 3rd and if the news is bad I can assure you that Second Breakfast will transfer as a group.
