Ya, I took my time to reply to this topic but now I do because tomorrow is band meeting again (if they are done with the updates by then)...

I must say I pretty much took the things that happened personally. Since it was my joke going when this happened. But still I don't feel bad for that or guilty of anything following the joke.
I already had a talk with Dallo and we both explained this some to each other. I understand his point that having to "control" a lot of different people at the same time via a small chat box can be frustrating at times and even more if it's your own project you are handling. We already had a few people hopping in and out of the band where I can fully understand this and even stopped Dallo sometimes from getting too excited about it.

Now why I'm not feeling guilty about what happened: The current band members are in the band for a pretty long time and we did a lot of things together, like Weatherstock or even concerts on different servers. I don't think I need to name who I'm referring to (or do I?). We have always been there when it was needed, no jokes were made, lyrics were studied, everything was practiced and everyone had notes ready. Even for those who didn't have notes there was someone to tell them what to do.
Everyone else who was involved in the band just dropped by, left, promised, didn't show up anymore, said a lot of things (I don't have to name those too, do I?)... So here I don't see why there would be a problem with any of us regarding not being there, being totally late, not showing up for something planned etc. I mean there must be a reason why I was told to be band assistant or not? Why Lark captures all those videos of our concerts and why Kanaru is making time for the band with his family responsibilities and lately college or not? That just as a few examples, I know there are more.
The jokes and goofing around, especially with Taumel of course, Kanaru and Rosa, were always part of the band meetings for me. And after a year I get told it's too much? That's strange! And with all the above said I don't see why it is bad anyway, there is no concert up ahead in the near future we need to prepare for. Everyone(!) from the band should know that I hate to get people to behave when there's a concert around the corner or I'm left in charge to prepare something. And besides... The goofing around never stopped me from hitting the little sync button of the songbook. It was even hit before all went to hell last Saturday.

I know, this sounds like a self-defense post but if it does I guess it is meant to because I kind of felt attacked, treated unfair and needed to say a few things clearly here.

After this long time with all of you guys I hoped we would understand each other's humor. Even without hearing the tone of a voice. And I hope I'm still not wrong with that. So I would like to hear the opinions of the other band members as well. I do not want to change the band or the meetings at all because I still think with us few, a harmonizing team, there is no need to. Please let me know if you think otherwise and how because only then I can fully decide how this all makes me feel.

I also hope nobody feels offended by this post, it's not meant as a personal attack to anyone, just my view of things. If anyone still feels offended I am sorry it sounded like this, it sure isn't meant to.

First off, I want to apologise on behalf of Larksong and Faerstar for fruit-flinging and bug-dropping. You're right: band practice isn't the time or place for goofing around, and it has to be very frustrating for you. When it involves actions that actually bring practice to a halt, then yes, it becomes an annoying waste of time for everyone.

I hope everyone can take a deep breath, think about how much fun being in the band really is, and not get too bent out of shape over this. Maybe it was just one of those moments when emotions collided in all the wrong ways. Since we only use text, we can't hear each other's tone of voice, and it's easy to misread the way a remark was intended. Honestly, it all happened so fast I didn't even see it coming.

But if we've been committed enough to show up faithfully every week, create alts on distant servers in order to raise money for charity, and be ambassadors for Second Breakfast wherever we go, then surely we can overcome the tiff that occurred today. I've been in the band for more than a year now, and have never really seen a cross word or bad humor from anyone.

Please, let's all come back together next Saturday. I love you guys

Ahem... th' thing about a avalanche is, y' never know one's about t' happen til just after it does. But then y' can look back an see th' snow buildin up...

First off I'd like t' apologize t' any that feel pers'nally aggrieved by what happened at Band t'day. Let me say that it was NOT directed at individuals specifically, just like y' can't blame th' last seven snowflakes fer startin a avalanche. An if I'd've known it was comin m'self, I'd probly have managed it better.

I don't have no trouble at all in understandin why some folks might've felt hurt or angry by me ridin off like that. Was it a fair thing t' do? No. Not at all. But then life don't appear t' me t' be very fair, as a gen'ral rule, so I ain't goin t' lose any sleep over that.

What WILL trouble me is if some folks got their dander up so much that they feel compelled t' drop out o' th' Band. That was certainly not my intent, an I don't want t' lose no one. But there are some things that I would like t' see happen diffrently.

Th' reason that we all get t'gether every week—th' MAIN reason—is t' play music t'gether. None o' us would've got t'gether if it weren't fer that. An it's our band; we all got a share in it, an it couldn't exist without us. But it's also MY band. I'm th' Leader, I build a large portion o' th' pieces, an make changes where musically necessary t' stuff that I didn't build from th' start; I do th' organizin, make up th' set lists, arrange fer th' Concerts, an it's my job t' see that everythin hangs t'gether.

An for a long time I been feelin frustrated by th' need t' plead with people t' show up AT noon, t' pay attention an not go wanderin off (afk) in th' middle o' some number, an t' quit tossin rotten fruit at each other when we're cuin up th' next song. I feel that way fer 2 reasons. First, because it's not why I'm there. I'm there t' play th' new music, see if everything checks out, an discuss upcomin events, an other stuff like that. But if that was th' only reason, I'd just sit on it an stay quiet.

What bothers me most is that when people show up late, they are wastin th' time o' th' folks that got there early; when people go watch a football match as soon as a piece starts, an don't hear me sayin t' stop playin an start over, they're wastin th' time o' everyone that IS payin attention. When 3 people are hittin each other with emotes, there's 5 other people there simply standin around waitin fer them t' stop.

I got nothin against good fun, an jokes, an laughin at ourselves. I do NOT want t' run a group where everyone's s'posed t' sit up straight with their hands folded on th' desk an both feet flat on th' floor. But I DO want a group where we focus on th' music durin our rehearsals, an don't get sidetracked into other things.

I've played in th' Green Hill Music Society on Landroval, an th' Eriador Music Society on Elendilmir (where th' leader had such a big poker up his bum that I had t' leave, m'self) an I've sat in on a few others, an I see plenty o' humor, an good-natured ribbin, an th' like. What I don't see is people stoppin th' rehearsal t' do other things. An that's what I"d like t' see in th' Breakfast Club also.

Once again, I apologize fer th' abruptness o' what took place. It weren't planned, b'lieve me, it just sort o' happened. But it happened fer a reason, which I've tried t' explain here. I hope that all o' ye will try t' see my point, as I can assure ye I see th' other side too.

All righty, then! I want t' do two things, but we may have t' start 'em NEXT Saturday, as I don't expect everyone t' read this b'fore THIS Saturday...

Regardin th' Music Bug. I'm proposin that we meet on Saturdays in Staddle somewheres, where there ain't a lot o' traffic (I'll go an scout a good location) an that I don't invite nobody until they get there. Then we ride from there into Bree, no portin or anythin. It's been suggested in sev'ral places that doin this MAY help reduce (at least) th' incidence o' th' Music Bug. We'll try it an see.

Secondly, we been playin Far Over now fer 'bout a year. When I first built th' file, I had intended t' post a Video response t' th' young lady that wrote th' music, Shadowca7, on her YouTube channel. Kanaru did make a video, but th' openin o' th' thing was a bit wobbly, I had a hat on so's y' couldn't see m' face, an th' words wasn't visible over m' head.

So I'd like t' get that done, an it's been suggested that we have 3 Dwarfs play it. I know that Blondel an Dothlangir could be part o' that, an Futhork, while he ain't a reg'lar member o' th' Band, could come in fer th' session. But I also thought that, t' reflect our Kinship better, we might double th' parts (have 6 musicians) with some non-Dwarfs in th' second tier. If we're goin t' make it a Dwarf-centric thing, we'd probly want t' go t' Thorin's Halls t' shoot it, but I'll consider other locations if anyone thinks there's a better spot. As y' know, Larksong's been doin some video production, an I think she'll be able t' get us as good a take as possible.

Again, I'm figgerin on tryin both o' these ideas, NEXT Saturday, th' 16th. But we may have t' do th' Far Over thing early, say at 11:00, on account o' I think Blondel won't be able t' stay late (tho I dunno that fer certain).

Well, as always, some say it helps, others say it doesn't. Could all be fortunate coincidence if it does *shrug* we will see...

Right-o, Taenz; thank'ee fer doin th' leg-work to come up with this.
I dunno if it'll work or not, but it won't hurt t' give it a try. If I recall correctly, on Saturday it was yerself an Rosie that I was havin th' most trouble hearin, an I think I invited ye at th' Kinhouse, an Rosie I'm pretty certain I invited b'fore she arrived. So that casts a bit o' doubt on th' process, but we'll give it a shot next time, see if it seems t' help.

I looked around some in the LOTRO forums about the issue we got with the sound during band concerts. There are only few posts about this issue but I found something we could try:

1. Person plays while not in fellowship to make sure everyone can hear them. If not, relog and try again.
2. While the person is playing, invite to fellowship.
3. Rinse and repeat until all members are in the fellowship.

So we do this one after each other AFTER we reached the location where we want to play, nobody gets invited if he/she is not standing right next to us.

Besides that there is only the relogging suggestion until it works.

All righty! Got a preliminary view o' th' 12th night extravaganza, an believe me, that's th' right word fer it! Still dunno th' actual numbers Harper's wantin us t' play, ought t' have that by t'night.
But we should plan on bein in Landy by 2PM, fer what Harper's got listed as "Band Prep, Sound Checks". There'll also be "Dancin Lessons" at that time. Dunno if that means they'll be handing out dance knowledge somehow, or if it's just t' get folks accustomed t' startin in unison...
Th' actual Event starts at 3PM, with some speechifyin, an then we're th' first band t' play, startin 'bout 3:20 (I'd assume all o' these times will actually be a bit delayed...)
Our set, with instructions an whatnot, runs til 3:40, after which MVT, Ol' Winyards, Green Hill, BBB an then Ol' Winyards again all got sets, an th' thing closes sometime after 6PM. That'll be after 2AM in Deutschland y Espana, so I dunno if all o' us will last that long...

I'll post th' numbers t'night or t'morrow morning on th' Breakfast music site, along with any other info I get.

So glad it went well and I'm real sorry about having another engagement. And it turned out we had a wedding after the concert plus some more filming for the latest BBB video. So, a busy night but I missed playing with you.
