Aye.  No rush to buy until I need it.  I still have hope for a good scouring of the Shire which should be doable since we had a pre and post battle MT.  I am certain there will be an instance or four of our playing Sam during The Event and maybe (longshot since I think we're past that point) of encountering Shelob.  Bring me full circle back to the Shire is my largest hope for the endgame.  After that... ??  And do I really need anything after that?  I don't, but the game certainly will in order to survive. Elessar pardons the Haradrim--makes peace ultimately--something I'd forgotten til I read it last night (happen to be at that spot).

Still much to be done before game is done.  That gives me hope.

oh--found this interesting fan fiction short story about the Haradrim when I googled to confirm my memory:  worth a quick read--only about 2 minutes long  Very good:

Th' draw here fer me has always been about 2 things: firstly, th' chance t' take part in a story that I've always loved, an B, th' really awesome world-buildin that Turbine did. I'm still impressed with th' detail an scope o' Middle-earth, but I'm a bit leery o' th' direction th' game-play is takin. I had hoped that somehow (mebbe in session play?) we'd get t' experience at least a bit o' what Frodo an Sam (an Gollum, fer that matter) went thru after departin from Faramir, but th' whole premise o' th' Mordor expansion is that they've already DONE what they set out t' do—otherwise we'd not be able t' get thru th' Black Gate in th' first place. I'm a bit worried that th' plan is t' start writin entirely new chapters so's t' keep th' game goin, leavin Frodo an Gandalf b'hind as we chase brand new villains into Harad or Rhûn or somewhere.

Granted, there's been a whole lot o' invention in th' game already, an necessarily so, messin around in Angmar an Forochel an whatnot, but it's always been able t' be connected t' what was goin on in th' Professer's yarn, even when it took some rather large liberties (fer instance, Angmar in th' books is completely uninhabited at th' time o' th' Fellowship). But now we seem t' be goin completely off th' rails, leadin t' what portends t' become WoW in Middle-earth. So I ain't all that eager t' pop into Mordor an fight Sauron's captains who are now battlin each other fer supremacy. I suppose I'll come along anyway, but I may very well wait til winter an buy th' thing with Lotro Points...

I'm fine waiting myself. I've barely touched the far side of Osgiliath, and I see no bonus bling to tempt me to buy early.  This is pre-purchase vs pre-order from all I can tell, so since nothing to miss out on I find no reason to rush.  By the time I finish Ithilen it might go 50% off.  And the high elf--is simply a race, not a new class (like the Beorning was) so I'm not hyped about that. I'm VIP, will remain so, want the game to succeed, want them to make good money, but I'll likely be holding off for now.

I think they should release partially complete things so we can all get really really frustrated and then when they fix it we are so relieved and happy :D

Thank you Rosie! Too bad I can't afford it. I agree with ya Cotho, I'd rather see a delayed release that's polished if this is so the case

I'm still very conflicted about this. I haven't been on Bullroarer myself but from everything I've read it seems that the whole expansion still needs a lot of polishing and bug fixes so I cannot fully understand why they're already releasing it in 2,5 weeks. And looking at the LOTRO forums and subreddit it seems that most people agree with this and would rather see a delay than getting an unfinished product (which seems to be the trend these days -- I'm looking at you, No Man's Sky and Mass Effect Andromeda *shakes fist*)

Personally I'm still not sure whether I'll get the standard edition or the ultimate fan bundle, I usually go with the biggest collector's editions but $130 is just... too much, you know? I just hope they read through the feedback on LOTRO forums and adjust the bonuses a bit -- I mean, $40 extra to get the High Elf Race does not seem fair to me, and most people don't seem to care about the level boost but it's included in every pack.

Also it does not help that I'm getting paid on August 1st and this is scheduled for July 31st *cries*

Edit: But on a positive note, I'm really looking forward to Mordor (trying to stay spoiler-free though!) so I'm definitely excited about the story and the future of LOTRO Happy
