((FROM a book I read, detailing information about various lands in Middle-Earth))

The North Downs are located between Bree-land and Evendim, and Aggmar. For more than a thousand years no king has ruled from Fornost and and the common people have stood caught between a somewhat noble age in the west and the accursed Angmar in the north-east.

Well I rode here north out of Bree-land, thru Trestlebridge, passing hills, worgs, and other manner of creatures like bear and wolves - stopping for a rest in Esteldin.

Spent some time with the guards, learning of any issues with my plans to travel further south in the morning. Shared a few laughs and my pipe-weed (they we out and welcomed a taste from the Shire )

After morning breakfast, we said our good-byes and I headed south, into Meluinen: "Once a lush land where elves have settled in a refuge named Lin Giliath. The people here are ever vigilant of the orc of Nan Wathren to to their west.

I am always amazed at the structures (above) built by elves, this one occupies Lin Giliath.

I plan to spend another day or more here, before setting out again. After my time spent in the Lone Lands (I've misplaced those pictures) I am enjoying the green and peacefulness - a welcomed change from the dry, barren Lone Lands.

Until next time, may the road always rise to meet you, may your journeys be safe, and ALWAYS remember "It is not about the destination, rather, it is about the journey..."
