I dun wanna jinx it but I'm happy to see someone on the way to winning this who surely deserves it, that sadly doesn't happen often.

It seems that PC's leader has "withdrawn" from the contest because of the cheating (or perhaps more accurately because their own cheating was discovered and rectified). I thought their highly suspicious behaviour would be tolerated, and once again they'd walk away with the grand prize. I couldn't be more thrilled that Harper has now made it to the top because of the outpouring of support from the Lotro community. Harpermouse is going to love her new birthday gift.

I believe that voting is still open for a couple more days, and though Harperella now has a rather comfortable lead I hope you will all join me in adding a few more votes for our Landy Godmother. That link again is tinyurl.com/winharperella.

Not only in first...600+ votes in first. I'm sure PC isn't going to be to happy about that. Happy

Guildlaunch has adjusted the vote counts and this puts Harperella in first place! I'm so happy, I could cry. Thank you so much for your support even in the face of insurmountable odds!

I'm moving the conversation over into LOTRO general forums as a single point of contact.
http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?490498-Weatherstock-s-Harperella-seeks-Top-Guild-Leader-prize-The-struggle-documented-here!

I'd love it if you could stop by and post something nice to help dilute the curmugdeons.

I have to say I'm pessimistic; in this sort of thing nice guys don't usually win.

But, I'll keep voting and hoping Harper.

Updates for the night... Phoenix Crisis really pulled out all the stops. They more than doubled yesterday's vote count for a high of 183. Team Harp trailed with just 97, down 20% from yesterday.

Things are not looking good if Phoenix Crisis can keep up that level of voting. I'm considering how best to tactfully widen the call, or if I should just throw in the towel and take the sunglasses. Here's the day's projections:

Oh, and I was contacted by Fattalys today to defend his votes. He says he has 586 active players in his league. He challenged me on the 700% gain number (I provided numbers) and the ghost army reference (I said I can't find any sign of him advertising on the web compared to all other contestants--he's a ghost and has an army. I wish I had a ghost army!)

Anyhow that's it for the night. Vote, vote, vote! And here's a little harping from today:

I'll try and provide a little tune each day to keep you interested!

Done and done!

Harper, I consider this the very least I can do for all that you've done to create and nurture this lovely kin that I call home.

I'll be voting everyday, and keeping the positive thoughts rolling out your way!

I had just written up a personal plea to vote for you, Harperella, and just after I finished it I saw that you'd written this, not even 7 minutes prior to my own post! I guess I will go over and delete that post because yours is certainly the superior of the two.

You've had my vote every day, and I absolutely urge all of our members to go out there and vote like crazy.

For those who don't know, Harperella helped set the tone for our kin, founded Elevenses, and brought the RP community to our doorstep. I don't know where Crickhollow would be without her, but I do know that Second Breakfast would have never existed in her absence. That alone would have me voting for her, but I really must acknowledge all that the Lonely Mountain Band has done for this game. They really are Lotro's finest kin (if we leave SB out of the mix, of course).

So please do get over there and vote for our beloved Landy Godmother, the legendary Harperella! That link again is: tinyurl.com/winharperella

PostPosted: Fri Nov 23, 2012 5:38 pm    Post subject: A Favor for a friend of Second Breakfast

Dear Second Breakfast,

You may dimly remember me as your first friend on Crickhollow--Harpercricket the Hobbit Minstrel. Years ago, Tinki and I journeyed to the newly opened land of Crickhollow and founded Second Breakfast as a way to bring social roleplay to a new land. To begin with, it was a temporary kin until Crickhollow got going. But when the time came, everyone wanted to keep their Second Breakfast for keeps! At that time, I returned to Landroval and turned over governance of the kin to Sadie and Buddy. I have lived on Landroval with my own kin, The Lonely Mountain Band, ever since. Of course, Second Breakfast and LMB do get together occasionally. We had our first and only cross server Ales and Tales on Crickhollow with the help of Second Breakfast. The Breakfast Club has played Weatherstock for two years running now. And I do come and check out your forums to check up on you dear Breakfasters when I get to wondering about you. In any case, I've always considered our two kins to be "cousins" separated by distance.

About a week ago, I was explaining to my daughter (Harpermouse) why I couldn't afford to buy her a laptop that could run LOTRO like she had wanted. She was sad, but accepting. The very next day, I was invited to participate in the Guildlaunch Top Guild Leader contest. The first prize of which is... a gaming laptop! I've been putting out the word with The Lonely Mountain Band, and have established a very solid 3rd place standing. However, each day the front runner gets a little further ahead. So I need to ask your help!

Right now the competition has come down to three contestants:

1) Fattalys: Leader of Phonix Crisis, a multi-game (but mostly DC online) PvP group that won the last contest (an alienware gaming rig) quite handily. I've had very little luck finding any real information on them other than a series of fancy but mostly desserted guild websites.
2) Findail: Leader of the Knights of Arcadia, a WoW guild associated with Penny Arcade. He appears to have quite a bit of WoW community support and is actively working the various WoW forums on the internet.
3) Harperella: Yours truly, and positioned as the champion of in-game music and events rather than PvP and Raiding. I'm asking for support from my own kin, and for like-minded players who value events, casual gaming, and music.

I see this as a choice of three gaming styles: PvP, Raiding, or Social/Music/RP. I know which style Second Breakfast favors!

So if you'd like to help, then just follow this link: tinyurl.com/winharperella

You can vote once a day every day until the end of the contest on December 21st.

I want to take one final opportunity to tell you, Second Breakfast, how incredibly proud I am of you. In the last two years, Second Breakfast has become the premier kinship on Crickhollow, and well known throughout all of LOTRO. You've put on fun and creative events, musical concerts, even organized kinship neighborhoods. I see the way that you interact with one another on these forums, and the playful and friendly way that the kinship has grown. All this just makes me smile. Thank you, Second Breakfast, for being you!
