For many years we have gathered to mark the autumn equinox with the festival of yáviérë. As the darkness of the season grows along with rumors that Mordor once again is rising we should gather to give thanks to all those who fight the darkness allowing the light to rise every dawn. While the darkness may seem to win as long as we remain vigilant and true to our ideal it wil never win. It will never gain control of our souls.
Remants of Annuminas and Second Breakfast will sponsor a thanksgiving event to honor our brave warriors.
Gather at the Brandywine Bridge for a parade march from the Shire to Bree. We will march in silence to the Boar Fountain, arriving at the Boar Fountain memorial bonfires will be lighted in remembrance of all who had suffered or been sacrificed in the dark days of the time of Mordor and the vigilant fighters who battle the darkness in our names as once more the dark is rising.
As the bonfire burn we each speak aloud the names of those great warriors who continue to battle against the dark and those who lighten our burdens during this season. Two great warriors will be called forth to be recognized for their deeds in our continuing battle. Those who know them best will praise and roast our heroes of the night. The roast will be followed by a evening of food, song and merriment in the mess hall.
