Bring Back th' BAND!
Right-o then, I've made sev'ral threatenin noises about this, time t' actually step up an do somethin.
I am hereby unilaterally declarin that from now until further notice, every Sunday at Noon, Server Time, there will be a meetin at th' Kinhouse fer anyone that's interested in playin with th' Second Breakfast Reconstituted Band, also known as th' Breakfast Club. I am workin on multi-part pieces, finally got some advice on how t' keep th' diffrent parts all playin at th' same tempo (which had been drivin me 'round th' bend), so I hope t' be able t' introduce new repertoire on a semi-reg'lar basis.
Y' don't need t' know nothin about music t' join up, just need a desire t' have a good time doin somethin that's both frivolous and impressive with some o' yer fellow kinfolk. Everybody can play at least two instruments, an there's folks can teach ye th' skills t' learn other instuments as well.
If only two or three of us show up this Sunday (th' 13th), that's perfectly fine. May take some time, an some concerts, t' get more folks enthusiastic about this, but it'll come, I'm sure o' that. (Leastways I sure hope so; got one piece in progress that'll require a 12-person Raid t' do properly.)
I chose th' time on account o' th' folks in th' EU won't have gone t' bed yet—8PM—an even th' hung-over ones on th' US West Coast ought t' be up an stumblin about by then—10AM .
See you there!

Woops! Came back to see if'n anybody'd added anythin here, an noticed I'd bollixed up th' time a bit; noon Server Time is only 9AM fer West Coasties, which may be a bit early of a Sunday mornin. But fer th' time bein, I'm goin t' keep it there, until we see how it goes fer a couple o' weeks, an then mebbe we'll push it back a half hour or somethin...

I actually put this idea on the officer meeting agenda prior to your post, so I'm thrilled to see this. I went to an event on Laurelin last month and was impressed with the number of great bands on the server. Landroval and Laurelin had quite a head start on us, but I'd love to see some more bands on Crickhollow.
I already have a couple of upcoming events that I'd like to hire the band for, and I'll be glad to come out for practice when I can. I went ahead and put the event on the calendar, reoccurring every Sunday through December 18th (figured the band master would let us have off on Christmas and New Year's Day).

Thank you for the memories, Second Breakfasters! Much love to you all. ~ Crickhollow Music

Wish I could join, but this is just too early for me. Happy to bring my own band to any concerts though.
Oi! Did th' words actually show up like that, or did ye paste 'em in there later? I never seen that before, mebbe there's a Option I don't know about...

Weekends are always a struggle with me since my husband works the week and weekends are the times we do things together. It doesn't rule them all out, but having time online, especially during the day, is a rare treat for me. I once joined a raiding guild who only raided weekends. I asked for a compromise of every other weekend and I think I only had the pleasure of raiding with them like that over the course of a month and a half before I had to leave due to the issues it brought into my personal life.
If I didn't know from experience that this isn't an option for me, I would try to commit to more. What I can offer is to fill in if needed. I have a mini, and Sapph knows quite a few instruments as well. If an event is coming up and you need an extra lute, harp, or whatever, and I am known to be going to said event, please feel free to nudge me. I am familiar with songbook and lyrical and if given a link or two to the material, I can be set up in a matter of minutes.

BAND PRACTICE FER SUNDAY TH' 20th
This Sunday (Noon, Server Time) we'll be lookin at a couple o' new pieces: th' Time Warp ( a great dance number from Rocky Horror) an another Holiday piece, though many may not know it: This Little Babe, from Benjamin Britten's Ceremony o' Carols. Also plan t' do some experimentin with live playin, an mebbe we'll get in a tutorial on th' Lyrical Plug-in an th' LOTRO Songbook, two add-ons that (as I am assured by them that know) make playin an sortin yer music files incredibly easy. Fer them that don't have 'em, here's some links:
Fer th' Lyrical plugin:
http://www.lotrointerface.com/downloads/info455-Lyrical.html
An y'can read about an download th' LOTRO Songbook here:
http://www.lotrointerface.com/downloads/info380-0.51.html
Also, I'm hopin that once we're done we can all go out, either en masse or in a couple o' smaller sets, an play some stuff fer passers-by
It'll be good practice!

I can't make it to practices either due to family stuff on Sundays but if you need someone to fill in I have Bugo who was taught all of the instruments. I have songbook and lyrical as well.
