Update 14 should arrive sometime this month. Which part of the release are you most excited about? Or will you just be plugging along as is? I've added a poll at the top, but you can add your thoughts here as well.
I'm looking forward to a couple of things that will make it easier to help the kin--a longer message of the day and an expanded friends list. We try to make sure that we keep the most important information in that message, so please check it when you log in. I'm not so sure if the world channel will be a good thing, but the optimist inside me holds a glimmer of hope deep within.
Of course, I'm really more excited about getting into Gondor.
The quest pack will cost 795 TP. Patch notes for builds one, two and three contain a great deal of information, but none of it is final. Lotro Players has some screenshots and preview videos. The June dev chat has some info on this new release as well as some idea of what we're doing down the road. And Galuhad has put together a guide about the new socketed armour and essences for the Lotro forums. Take a look around if you'd like before you decide whether or not to spend the TP.
At quick glance, looks like the essences are lvl 100. Makes sense. Beef up your max lvl toon just in time to level some more...oh wait. That's not right. (I really shouldn't comment when I'm in these moods)
I'm looking forward to level 100; I've missed being able to level Laurinda. :)
I also like the idea of a world chat. If nothing else, it should be good for knowing how many people are on at a given time.
Hoping that U14 isn't as buggy as the last couple and that the content is much more interesting than Fangorn has proven to be. I'm not a gearhead, so the "slots and essences" is a big yawn, and yet one more "system" to figure out. World chat is just another way for the jerks-out-there to annoy me and will be unchecked immediately upon logging in a character. Long MotD is good, for those of us that read it. It's been obvious that far too many don't. Inventory and storage changes = hopefully positive. Level 100 = ho hum. At least I've not spent a lot of time chasing "perfect" gear, only to see it go obsolete in the time it takes U14 to load.
Anyone hear anything about a new crafting level?
Baelle, up and coming minstrel
I can't wait to progress further with the epic story! Level 100..eh..will we get new skills? That'd be nice. I don't need the expanded friends list . I count them with my one hand. Um. Unless we're talking about alts from the kin...ha.
Do we know the cap is 100? Or is that just what is required for the new armor? Maybe level 105?

After viewing one or two videos of West Gondor I am really excited about the new region to explore, but I'm also equally interested in all the other goodies I listed above! Plus many items covered in the Patch Notes, such as fixing the fellowship emote and music bugs. Lots of good stuff ahead! Hoorah!!

Class Changes?!? Oh great. Another 6 months of hearing "Why do they keep changing classes. Give me back my (insert single skill that was moved and player just hasn't found it again yet), I'll die without it. And I was sooooo much more powerful before, they nerfed my main toon, I can't go on living. I haven't paid a dime to the game, and they are running it. I'm going to have to go back to WOW to recover." I'm not sure I'll be able to handle another round of that. /sigh. Someone please put a filter on me so I stop posting.
Does WoW function as a recovery program? I think they might be disappointed. :p
I only skimmed over the class changes and while I didn't see anything that ought to cause too many complaints I suppose where there's a will there's a way.
Filter? Why stop at a filter? *Smothers Haz with a pillow.*
*Thinks better of it, mostly as Rosalie is watching, and removes the pillow from Haz's face.*
I took a look at a video or three, and I have to say that I am also looking forward to the new areas. I'd LOVE it if the fellowship emote bug was fixed! I haven't been able to decipher emotes for the longest time; who knows what Haz has done behind my back that I've missed!

I looked over all of the patch notes fairly carefully, even skimming through class changes for classes I don't actively play, and I saw a lot of positive adjustments throughout: damage increases, induction reductions, corrected tool tips, etc. I'm not seeing any kind of class revamp, but rather tweaking, correcting and improving. Of course there will be people who complain no matter what, but just ignore them if they do. I was also pleased to see repeated references to corrected typos, animations, graphics, and various game mechanics. Sounds like Turbine is keeping their promise to go back and clean up lots and lots of minor issues before going on to the next major expansion. So cheer up, Haz, and have an extra piece of pie--West Gondor and more Epic story await! And, um, hide the pillows.
