Anniversary Poem
So's the last I heard, we were doing our anniversary this weekend...and then I didn't check the website (note: ALWAYS CHECK THE WEBSITE), so I missed it!
I had composed a poem to share (and did so at Elevenses this morning), so for anyone who went to the anniversary events but not this morning's elevenses...here's what you should've heard!
At Michel Delving's famous pub,
At Bread and Jam, and Shirefest,
At concerts by the Breakfast club --
At these events we're just the best!
From Sadie then, to Larksong now,
And all the officers betwixt --
They make the soil in which we grow
A close-knit kinship here on Crick!
But what's a captain with no crew?
For ev'ry Elf whom Hobbits helped;
For vets who walked a new face through
The twisty halls of Dwarrowdelf :
We're good, true friends on which to lean...
For that's what Second Breakfast means!
This is a beautiful poem! Thanks for sharing it with us at Elevenses! :)
Splendid! Thank you Sim.
