Introduction
Hello there!
Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, as I've submitted an app. I come to you from Luventhariel's amazing reply to my Looking-for-Kinship post on the LOTRO forums.
I'll be coming over with a lovely companion (not yet started), who I've played Everquest and Everquest 2 with. She's absolutely new to LOTRO, while I've played here and there over the years (it's been 2-3 years since last I played though). I've never really found a home before, so I'm hopeful that the bribes will be well received and accelerate my entry into the kin... oh, sorry, not playing the Burglar... seriously, I've had bad luck finding kinships, mostly due to standards such as not joining WC posting kins, etc, and then having friends that were playing go off to greener pastures. Interestingly enough, it worked in reverse and I decided to become more outgoing, joined a guild in Everquest and made an amazing friend in my companion... and now we're looking to take roots in Crickhollow.
I co-host a podcast, Fortress of Nerditude (fortofnerd.com) where I've lately been discussing my MMO journey, to include my excitement at coming back to LOTRO (I'm "Stu" there). I love all things "nerd culture" and really enjoy sharing those joys with my 7-year-old daughter, who is also quite happily a nerd. My 22-year-old rebelled and went "full normal". I still love her, but her Christmas stocking is always the light one.
I've read over the charter and other interesting tidbits about this kinship, and I truly hope we're all a fit. If not, I'm still ecstatic to enjoy this experience with my friend, and we'll at least see each other around, I'm certain.
I've lead a very eventful life, and am quite happy to be where I'm at in this journey, both in and out of game.
See you around!
Draleric
Love your siggy...hehe. You've made me laugh quite a few times in the last few days, and I appreciate it. My grandmother told me (when I was a very young elf) that, "Both smiles and frowns are contagious, make sure to infect someone with the right one". :)
We have a running joke in my family that my youngest daughter is the "Marilyn" of The Munsters, we love each other dearly, but clearly she's not like the rest of us...
Hi Draleric (must admit, I have an urge to call you Dr. Dre). Welcome to the SB forum! I think you have shown a wonderful sense of humor (love your siggy by the way), and I wish you all the best in your journey through the world of LOTRO.
We all seem to love your signature--and here you went to all that trouble in your application when all you needed was the cute footnote. Ah well.
Sorry to hear about your daughter--the older one. Hopefully she'll make a full recovery some day.
I'm looking forward to seeing you in Arda!
