Greetings! Just a few questions!
Well met! My name is Nylos and I'm a newer player to LotRO, having only a 31 captain at this time on Arkenstone. I've tried multiple times to get into the game and for some reason it's stuck this time, so here I am!
In my perusing Reddit and the official forums to answer the multitude of questions I've had since starting I've seen the Second Breakfast name come up quite a lot, and I wanted to know a little more about you guys, specifically raid/dungeon content.
My main draws to LotRO are the exploration, events, and story. I'm a long-time gamer and my main focus for most of my career has been end-game content and PvP. I see you guys have instance nights and roaming threat clears, but do you have consistent end-game raids going on, too, or does that fall under instance nights (sorry, both way LotRO does it and the jargon they use are still new to me)? I'm still a long time off from end-game and am enjoying my pace, but I was curious on if that was something that was participated in on a regular basis. Not looking for a cutting-edge world-first super-hard-mode type of environment, but are the lower/easier tiers of the newest raids something in my future with you guys, should I join/you accept me? If so, awesome. If not, what does the raiding scene on Crickhollow look like? Do pickup groups happen or are most of the groups regular/selective/kin-only?
The reason I ask is because I think the player-ran events and light-RP aspect are really cool, and I haven't seen much of that at all on Arkenstone. You guys are sounding right up my alley in that regard, but I don't want to transfer and potentially miss out on raiding. I thrive on group content and originally chose Arkenstone because I was told that's where most of the raid community was, but if I can get my fix on Crickhollow too it's kind of a win-win.
Thank you very much for your time! I hope to be applying soon!
Well, I hate to disappoint you. We do LOVE raid night, but only a few of us are SERIOUS end-game raiders. Hope this helps in your quest for a kin!
Yes, we do not raid as a kin very much but we have gotten groups together in a pinch. I would say Crickhollow as a whole has a decent raiding scene so you should still find your fix as world chat is usually blasting fellowship requests.
After doing a lot of research and looking I think I found a home that will suit me pretty well, albeit on Arkenstone. I may make a character at some point and attend some concerts or events on Crickhollow, but for now my focus is going to be there.
Thank you all for the replies, it's much appreciated!
