It is with heavy heart and much sadness that I must finally admit that, due to RL circumstance, it may be best for me and SB to step down as your kinmother. My playtime on LoTRo will be severely limited for the forseeable future, as I navigate some life changes.
Since Buddy is already my successor, I will merely default to him; unless there are objections or other suggestions. I have asked for an officer to take over website upkeep for me. The financial end of this website and our Vent server have always been covered by Buddy and I - as our choice; but that will no longer be possible. I think the best option is to add a Paypal Donation link that will help with both; assuming the kin decides it is worth it to keep this site ad-free and the Vent up and running.
I must be sure to let each and everyone of you know what a wonderful blessing this kin has been and continues to be to me, and what a tremendous honor it has been to be your kinmother. I hope that I have served you well and have made SB part of what it is and hopefully will continue to be in the future. No worries, I am NOT leaving LoTRo or SB altogether, just have to re-arrange my priorities a bit. You will be seeing me from time to time....who could stay away from such lovely people?? And I will be popping onto these forums on a regular basis. I just fear that my continued absence will have a detrimental effect on the kin--- you all need an active leader who will be better able to handle all that is required from this position. I hope to pass along the torch by the end of September.
For any who would like to stay in touch outside LoTRo, feel free to look me up on Facebook or message me through this site.
Thank you all for your wonderful trust and faith in me as your leader, and I apologize for any times that I have failed to live up to the expectations of this position.
I love you all and will see you in game....eventually!
Cheers Sadie! You have been a most gracious monarch. It has been a pleasure to be in your guild. <folds hands and bows formally>
I hope you will come back and play as often as your life direction allows. Maybe we can have a party in-game (with lots of pie and music) to celebrate your time as our Kinmother?
It is great that you are thinking about succession, rather than leaving us to drift leaderless. Thank you!
I'll happily follow Buddy if he wishes to be our new active Leader! Long live the King and so on. <impish grin> I am looking forward to hearing his vision for the guild and the new directions he will take us. Buddy was (presumably) part of the decision in selection of our current officers, so I'm guessing there won't be much of a shake-up there. This seems a goodness to me; I admire our active officers.
P.S. Baquo, I checked the youtube link in your post and I love the song! Is it a tribute to Sadie or a personal philosophy?
Well, ain't this somethin? Sadie, all I can tell ye is that Second Breakfast is everythin I had hoped th' Shire Folk would be, an more; an I 'spect it's largely due t' yer hands on th' reins. Not t' discount all th' other officers an th' Kinfolk in general—a lovelier bunch o' people ye'd be hard put t' come across—but still, it's th' Chief that sets th' tone, an ye've done a remarkable job of it.
I'm hopin that th' RL circumstances ain't too onerous, an that we'll be seein ye on a reg'lar basis, even if it's not terribly frequent. That said, well.. *starts to sniffle* ...um, fortune be with ye *sniff* an.. an... LONG LIVE SECOND BREAKFAST!! *runs off, wiping his eyes*
