Anniversary Festival Concert
Thanks t' Taenzel fer postin th' Festival dates. So, I'm callin th' Concert on Saturday, April 21, at 12:30pm, Server Time. That'll give us a half-hour o' Band Meetin fer any last-minute adjustments, an then I'll program about 30-40 minutes o' music.
I'm thinkin we'll try t' keep our playlist more or less within Lore-appropriate limits, but I ain't goin t' be TOO conservative. An I'd like t' get input from the players about what pieces they'd like t' play as well, so limber up yer fingers, an give me some answers

Well if you want to keep it "lore-appropriate" it would make sense to play some songs of the original soundtrack of course.
Besides that Taumel already offered a couple of duo pieces of Blind Guardian which I think might fit, Bard's Song and the Lord of the Rings song in particular. Will have to check if there are versions for more than 1 or 2 persons to find, which would be nice.
And speaking of those songs I add a link to each of the songs so you can listen to them if you didn't yet (it might not be everybody's taste tho ), but this is how they go in real:
Bard's Song

Lord of the Rings

I'll look for more... got a few old music which I can check and look up on those abc sites, but promissing nothing...

Just finished redin th' Dev's Diary about th' Anniversary Festival, an the fireworks games sound fun, and might draw a pretty decent crowd, but at th' same time all that fizzin a poppin can sometimes cause folks t' lag, so I'm thinkin that may not be th' best place t' set up fer a concert (not t' mention th' noise factor). SO, fer now, I'm waitin t' visit th' areas in person b'fore decidin on where t' set p our bandstand (figuratively speakin, o' course).

Perhaps a set at a venue close to one of the main festival hubs might be best--a few choice spots could be the Thorin's Bar, the area outside of the Bree North Gate, or even just in the street in Michel Delving--a band was welcoming newcomers there when Laurelin opened to the Yanks and it was a lovely surprise.
It might be fun to play a few small ensemble pieces at the festival venues themselves leading up to the event (with a little promotional tagline for our concert at the end, naturally). I know musical distractions were always welcome during the downtime for beer fest, and perhaps the fireworks events will be run the same way. These downtimes do not lend themselves to a full concert, but they're perfect for a handful of songs from a small group, and it could whet the appetite of potential crowd members.

Could be even inside the beer fighting room, theres no restriction on who can enter, if you have the quest or not. And last time I did it there were always people waiting inside that room for the next round.
Btw, I'll upload a zip file with a few songs for tomorrow, some to test for the concert, some just to test for fun. I didn't try any of the songs yet (especially cause they contain too many parts), so I don't know if they are well made or even work... let's find out tomorrow

I might stay away from the fight room itself for the actual show, though it might make for an entertaining concert. Just might look odd with folks running away from our band each time a new round starts. The layers could mess with attendance as well, so we would need some announcements and a layer rangler. But above all, the song range would not be ideal for that large space. Our audience might be knocked out of range for significant portions of the show. Just things to consider.

Oh, an Taenz... here's how y' can see what th' song'll sound like (pretty much): http://lotro.acasylum.com/abcplayer/
Lets y' play 'em on yer hard drive, an it's nearly what they'll sound like in Middle-earth.

Attention attention please!
I now announce that Scocha managed to learn TWO new instruments: the drum (thanks to Sapphiria's alt) and the clarinet (thanks to my own mini alt after I remembered she can write mentor scripts ).
Well so now Scocha's list of instruments is: Horn, Lute, Drum, Clarinet and Cowbell. I hope it makes it easier for you, Dallo, to plan the song list for the concert

Well, as I've mentioned b'fore, this ain't goin t' be a formal, stand-alone concert so much as a street-band-playin-on-th'-boardwalk-type affair. After lookin at most o' th' Festival areas last night, I'm thinkin that th' Beer Fight arena might be th' best place fer us. Erri played a few numbers b'tween rounds there, an no one objected, an at least a couple o' folks attempted t' dance (all emote animations are disabled there, fer bandwidth purposes, I s'pose). We could stand near th' door an play fer them as are waitin fer th' next round, or conceivably even set up in th' out-o'-bounds area t' th' side. Th' place ought t' have a good-sized crowd just about any hour o' th' day, so that's what I'm leanin towards.
All this don't mean we oughtn't t' let folks know we'll be performin, I just don't want us t' expect t' be th' main attraction. We're just providin a bit o' background music fer th' Festival-goers.
I've just about got th' set list worked up, should be able t' post it t'night (well, b'fore t'morrow) an I'll come t' a decision about th' place as well.
OH! Anyone absolutely hate th' colors we wore last time? I'd still like us all t' be visually coherent, but we could use a diffrent color scheme if y' all want to ;)

So I say, since you all got outfits with those colors already, let's stick to them if nobody says different.
