Double Rainbow

As usual, I was alone in the latter hours of the night, everyone else having retired to their beds long ago. It was raining and had been for hours, endless clouds stretching from the eastern fields of Rohan to Rivendell, even damping the typically cheery realm of the Shire. As I stood atop a hill, contemplating leaving, the rain pattered to an end and the clouds broke, sunlight lancing through to remind me why I adore this world so much: because the best things are worth waiting for, even if it's in darkness. I give you, the double-rainbow.
