Welcome Moisty! Happy just so ya know, they've updated Moria to become less dark and added quests to make navigation easier.  We all remember falling off things over and over trying to navigate that place at first. xD and at this point, we all know the moria instances realllly well, so you'll have plenty of help getting through those!

Good to have you with us!  I am also a big map dork and love zooming in and out to find where I am as the game progresses.  Moria does take a long time but there are so many wonderful and amazing places to see afterward!  Bear in mind it's not even halfway through the game :o still boggles my mind. :D

((  I ran a 150 member LARP Vampire, The Masquerade campaign in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin about 25 years ago, for two summers in a row.  We were able to use several locations in the area (notably the Game Guild, a gaming store owned in part by Margaret Weis of Dragonlance fame), and were in constant contact with the LGPD (because 75 goths in that small city at once can be somewhat intimidating to the "normals").  Haven't thought about that in a while until I read your application.  Fangs for the memories!  ))

PostPosted: Mon Jan 25, 2021 6:20 pm    Post subject: An Introduction

Greeting everyone!

My name is John but in LotRO my character name is Moisty (I really only have 1 toon I play).  It is short for Moist Towelette, and that name reference to the little moist napkin thingies you get when you go to a restaurant and order ribs. Happy

I have played LotRO off and on since 2010.  However, I have never gotten a character past Moria.  It was just a crawl for me, at least what I can remember of it.  I have a new account with my new character (can't remember my old log in info).  This time around I am determined to get past it and enjoy Moria for what it is.  Instead of looking at it as something to get through.  I look forward to playing this game with new friends.  I am pretty casual.  I like to group up if there is an event going on or people want to run a dungeon or so.  I personally just enjoy experiencing the game and what it has to offer.

I have played all the usual suspects when it comes to MMOs.  Like I am sure most of you have over the years.  I am 39 year old high school special education teacher and football coach.  No my European friends, not that football but American football.  I am also a former Marine and spent some time in Iraq.

I love anything Middle Earth: books, movies, YouTube videos, etc.  I love how I can play in a zone in LotRO and then run upstairs to my big Middle Earth map hanging on the wall and find the exact same place I was leveling in! Dumb I know, but I love it.

Like I said before, I look forward to gaming with you all.  I try to be social in Discord as much as I can, in game and out.  Safe journeys to you all where ever you in Middle Earth.

Moisty
